Life in Texas

a quick note on our life as of late: Chad & I packed our bags and moved to Texas for the summer. It has been an adventure to say the least but we really kind of love it here. My husband works a job that consists of A LOT of time away from home/me. So we get to spend our time together on weekends, where I plan our days down to the hour with texas touristy type of activities. (No, we don't go country dancing or bull riding, two things I embarrassingly may have thought most Texans do for fun). A few of our favorite weekends entail trips to downtown Dallas, searching for our favorite Tex Mex restaurants, and fishing at Lake Lewisville behind our apartment. Our summer here is already halfway over & I think it's safe to say that Texas has been pretty good to us.

our weekend,

our weekend consisted of lots of bike riding, laying poolside, volleyball in the sand, spending much needed time with my newest niece and nephew taylor & will, a drive through Zions National Park, and a house all to ourselves. It was the perfect way to officially say goodbye to summer. Until next year sunny weather, we will miss you dearly!

p.s. a big thanks to amber who helped re-design this little blog of mine! i couldn't be more happy with how it turned out!

the denver zoo,

for some reason chad & i really love going to the zoo. the kind of love you have when you go for birthdays, holidays, & now our anniversary. even with all the pushing kids & smelly animals we find it totally worth it every time. here are a few pictures i snapped at the denver zoo. seriously the best zoo we've been to yet. and that's saying something.

that holiday only celebrated in utah,

this past tuesday was pioneer day here in utah! chad had no idea what pioneer day was until he moved here so i was happy to introduce him to the holiday. we decided it was the perfect day to spend at the pool celebrating with the family with no work for the both of us that evening (which never happens!) we got some sun, ate at the best new cafe on center street in provo called enlighten, and ended the night with fireworks in our neighborhood. i don't think there is anything better than summer days like this, especially when spent with such good company.

we're a little dog hungry

we've been wanting a dog for quite sometime now. our last two apartments haven't allowed pets (hence why we currently have a fish) so we are still waiting until we can score some luck. to hold us over for a little while we took my parents crazy dog bentley on a walk in the park on sunday. sadly for this dog he has to be on his leash at all times or else he will make a run for it. bentley doesn't get out too much so i think this may have been the highlight of his week!

oh and isn't my husband handsome? i just love him.
